Vlad, el príncipe de la oscuridad

Synopsis of Vlad, el príncipe de la oscuridad

Vlad, Prince of Wallachia, and his younger brother, Radu, are kidnapped by the Turkish Sultan, Mohammed. During the long period in which they are held, their father, Vlad II, Dracul, is murdered. Upon being released at age 17, Vlad ascends to the throne as Vlad III, Dracula (Son of Dracul) and decides to avenge his father's death and rescue his younger brother. King Janos of Hungary offers his alliance to Vlad in the fight against the Turkish invaders and the rebellious boyars, thus securing the throne for him. Vlad has also earned a nickname: Tepes (The Impaler), for his cruel method of killing enemies. Despite denying to Lidia, his wife, that he has ordered these terrible sentences, she discovers the truth and goes mad upon hearing the voices of the dead, eventually committing suicide. Vlad's despair increases his cruelty to the point of confronting his own brother Radu.
