«And the Ellington Men 1956-1957» is the compilation by Johnny Hodges, released in 2010 by Fresh Sound Records, as a double CD.
It compiles three albums that Johnny Hodges recorded in 1956 and 1957 with members of Duke Ellington's orchestra: «Ellingtonia '56», «Duke's in Bed» and «The Big Sound». In line-ups ranging from octet to full orchestra, and without Duke on piano, the alto saxophonist shows relaxed, elegant swing with blues touches.
Spanish remastered edition with catalogue number FSR-CD 573; brings together the content of three LPs on two CDs.
