«Arias de Zarzuela Barroca» is the compilation by María Bayo, with Les Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset, released in 2003 by Astrée on CD.
It brings together baroque zarzuela arias performed by María Bayo, with works by Vicente Martín y Soler, Luigi Boccherini, José de Nebra and Antonio Rodríguez de Hita. The journey approaches 18th-century Spanish lyric theatre from a sonority close to Italian baroque opera, with Les Talens Lyriques and conducted by Christophe Rousset.
The recording is a single-disc compilation, released in France by Astrée and Naïve, within the baroque and classical repertoire.
For fans of zarzuela and classical music, with an interest in Spanish baroque vocal repertoire.
