«Babel» is the second studio album by British band Mumford & Sons, released on CD in 2012.
The record develops acoustic-rooted folk rock, with banjo, guitars and wide choruses enveloping songs like «I Will Wait» and «Lover of the Light». The lyrics alternate devotion, nostalgia and redemption, with subdued passages and expansive choruses that build to a climax.
The album contains twelve songs and was recognized with the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2013.
For listeners who value acoustic arrangements, choral harmonies and folk-rooted melodies.
