«Blue Note Revisited» is the various-artists compilation released in 2004 by Blue Note and EMI, on CD.
It brings together Blue Note jazz classics filtered through electronic and hip-hop producers. The reinterpretations feature names such as J Dilla, 4 Hero, Jazzanova, DJ Cam, Madlib and Herbert, who turn the originals into danceable tracks with downtempo atmospheres, keeping the spirit of improvisation.
The European edition is a single-disc CD with Copy Control copy protection; the cover lists thirteen participating artists, including La Funk Mob, Kenny Dope, Madlib, J Dilla and Herbert.
For jazz and electronic music fans looking for contemporary revisions of classics from the Blue Note catalogue.
