«Brasil 2Mil: The Soul Of Bass-O-Nova» is a various-artists compilation, released in 1999 on the Ziriguiboom label, on CD.
The compilation reflects the renewal of Brazilian music in the late 90s: bossa nova, samba and Brazilian popular music cross paths with electronica, trip hop and broken beat. It includes tracks by Bebel Gilberto, Lenine, Arto Lindsay, Smoke City, Suba, Vinicius Cantuária, Chico Science and Nação Zumbi, among others.
A single CD with 14 tracks, released by Ziriguiboom and Crammed Discs; the cover combines tropical flowers and palm trees.
Will appeal to fans of Brazilian music, Latin jazz and electronica with tropical roots.
