«Break the Cycle» is the album by Staind, released in 2001 by Atlantic, on CD.
On «Break the Cycle», Staind moves towards a more melodic sound within alternative rock and nu metal, with lyrics about inner conflicts, loss and overcoming. Both «It's Been Awhile» and «Outside» —the latter featuring Fred Durst— show that blend of hardness and accessibility.
«Break the Cycle», Staind's third studio album, was released with 14 tracks, including a live version of «Outside», and carries the Parental Advisory warning for explicit content.
Will appeal to listeners of alternative rock, heavy metal and nu metal looking for an early 2000s sound.
