«Cello Concertos Vol. 1 Nos. 1-4» is the album by Luigi Boccherini, released in 1999 by Naxos, on CD.
Four concertos by Luigi Boccherini, Italian composer and celebrated cellist. They balance elegant melodies with virtuosic passages for the soloist, such as Concerto No. 1 in C major and No. 4 in C major. This is the first volume of the complete set of his cello concertos.
Tim Hugh plays the cello with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Halstead. Recorded at Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, in September 1995; cadenzas by John Marlow Rhys. Catalogue: 8.553571.
