«Cello Sonatas, Vol. 1» is the album by Luigi Boccherini released in 1999 on the Naxos label, on CD.
The disc brings together five sonatas for cello and basso continuo by Luigi Boccherini, performed by Christian Benda on cello and Sebastian Benda on fortepiano. The works show a classical style, with lyrical and virtuosic passages; among them are the Sonata in A major G4, the Sonata in F minor and the Sonata in C major G17.
Recorded at the Kammermusikstudio of Süddeutscher Rundfunk, Stuttgart, in June 1996; total duration 71:12; catalog number 8.554324. The cadenzas and basso continuo are realized by Sebastian Benda.
For chamber music fans and those interested in the cello repertoire, keen on a performance with fortepiano.
