«Chasing the Deer» is the original soundtrack of the 1994 movie of the same name, composed by John Wetton, released on CD by Blueprint/Voiceprint in 1998.
The music combines progressive rock and pop rock to evoke the movie's atmosphere, with emotive melodies and instrumentation close to symphonic rock. Notable tracks include «Behind the Battlelines», which appears in two versions, and pieces with Jacobite bagpipes and British army drums during the battles.
The album, released in 1998 as a mini-album, and artist John Wetton, known for his career in progressive rock, carry the music of the historical film set during the Jacobite rebellion of 1745.
For soundtrack collectors and John Wetton fans, an imported CD edition that complements the 1994 movie.
