«Così fan tutte» is the recording of the comic opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, released by Opera Magic's on a double CD.
With a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte, «Così fan tutte» follows two couples who, due to a bet by the cynical Don Alfonso, undergo a fidelity test: the men pretend to leave for war and return disguised to court the other's fiancée. Disguises and false identities create an ironic comedy about constancy in love.
Recorded in Munich in 1978 with the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra conducted by Wolfgang Sawallisch. Cast: Margaret Price, Brigitte Fassbaender, Reri Grist, Peter Schreier, and Theo Adam.
For fans of Mozart's operas and historical recordings with a top-tier cast.
