«Diaspora Hi-Fi: A Mediterranean Caravan» is the album by Watcha Clan, released in 2008 by Piranha on CD.
The Marseille-based group Watcha Clan fuses electronica, hip hop, reggae and traditional Mediterranean, Balkan and Maghrebi music. Recorded between Oran and Agadir, the album traces a sonic route from London dance floors to the Mediterranean party, uniting Arab and Hebrew roots. It includes tracks such as «Goumari», «Eli» and «La patera».
Enhanced CD with 15 tracks, including the live video of «Eli» as an extra. Tim Whelan (Transglobal Underground) contributed additional production.
Will appeal to fans of world music and electronic fusion with Mediterranean and Balkan roots.
