«Din of Ecstasy» is the second studio album by Chris Whitley, released in 1995 by Sony Music on CD.
The album takes Chris Whitley towards alternative rock and grunge, with distorted electric guitars, dense production and a more experimental atmosphere than Whitley's acoustic debut. The lyrics have an introspective tone and the musician's blues foundation remains present beneath the noise. Standout tracks on the album include 'Narcotic Prayer', 'Know' and 'Never'.
Produced by John Custer and Chris Whitley; some tracks by Dougie Browne and Whitley. This is a European single-disc edition, released under the Work/Sony Music label.
For listeners of nineties alternative rock and grunge, as well as those who follow Chris Whitley's more electric phase.
