«Dummy» is the debut album by British band Portishead, released in 1994 on Go! Beat, on CD.
Portishead's debut is a key trip hop work: the band blends jazz, soul and electronic music into a dark, emotive sound, with Beth Gibbons' melancholic voice at its core. Among its best-known songs are «Sour Times», «Glory Box» and «Numb».
The CD contains 11 tracks and was recorded at State of Art and Coach House studios. In 1995, the album won the Mercury Music Prize.
For fans of trip hop, electronic music and alternative pop of the nineties.
