«El mito de la caverna» is the flamenco album by Cañizares, released in 2018 by JMC Music Productions, on CD.
Cañizares presents his compositions for flamenco guitar here, a journey through his roots and the genre's tradition. The title alludes to the tension between inherited flamenco and the artist's classical training. It includes pieces such as «El Mito de la Caverna» (seguiriya), «Isla de los Bienaventurados» (bulerías) and «Esperanzas y Claridades».
It is Cañizares's fourteenth album and his fourth of original compositions, the first since «Cuerdas del alma» (2010).
For fans of flamenco and Spanish guitar who want to discover Cañizares's side as a composer.
