It brings together three orchestral pieces by Jean Sibelius: the symphonic poem Finlandia, the Karelia Suite and the Lemminkäinen Suite, based on legends from the Kalevala. The Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Petri Sakari offer an evocative reading, with solemn passages, folk dances and dramatic moments that reflect Finnish nature and mythology.
