«Gigi» is the eponymous album by Ethiopian singer Gigi Shubabaw, released on CD by Ryko in 2002.
Gigi's voice is supported by a Bill Laswell production that fuses jazz, dub, funk, and African and Afro-Asian styles. Contributors include Hamid Drake, Herbie Hancock, Pharoah Sanders, Wayne Shorter, and Henry Threadgill, among others. Tracks like «Gud Fella», «Mengedebna», and «Abay» showcase this blend.
The edition contains 13 tracks on a single disc. The back cover places the album in the world music category of Africa and Ethiopia.
