«Global Meditation» is the world meditation music compilation published by Ellipsis Arts in 1993, in 4-CD format.
Four thematic discs —chants and prayers, ensembles, percussion and melody— traverse spiritual and ritual traditions from 40 countries, from the harmonic singing of a Tibetan monastery to Javanese gamelan and Japanese taiko drums, plus the rhythmic improvisation of Zakir Hussain.
The case includes a 32-page booklet and the total running time is nearly three and a half hours.
For world music fans: more geared to listening and inner journey than to formal meditation.
