«Grande Messe des Morts / Symphonie à 17 parties» is the double album by François-Joseph Gossec, released in 2001 by Naxos on CD.
It brings together two works by François-Joseph Gossec: the Grande Messe des Morts, a requiem composed in 1760 whose instrumental effects anticipate those of Berlioz, and the Symphonie à 17 parties, completed in 1809 and close to the symphonic language of the 1790s. It includes passages such as «Introitus», «Sequentia» and «Sanctus».
Edition on 2 CDs (8.554750-51), recorded in Lugano in 1998 and with the sung texts included.
