«Grosse Goethe Interpreten» is Ernst Ginsberg's album of recited poetry, released by Deutsche Grammophon on CD.
Eight ballads by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe recited by Ernst Ginsberg as declamation pieces, within Deutsche Grammophon's Literatur series. The recording places the performer's voice in the foreground and presents the German writer's texts from a sonic perspective, as documents of spoken poetry.
Recited in German. First CD release of this recording, made on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Goethe's birth (1749-1999). Single disc.
For listeners interested in Goethe's poetry, literary works in audio format, and the tradition of declamation recordings.
