Complete recording of Luigi Boccherini's quintets for guitar, two violins, viola and cello, where the chamber dialogue alternates elegance and popular rhythms. Includes the Quintet G.448 «Fandango» and «La Ritirata de Madrid» (G.453), two of his most celebrated pieces.
Recorded at the Oratorio di S. Rocco (Grignano Polesine); production by Gian Andrea Lodovici, sound by Matteo Costa. La Magnifica Comunità plays on original instruments.
Will appeal to fans of classical chamber music and historically informed performances of the eighteenth-century repertoire.
