«Handel: Nine German Arias» is the album by Iestyn Davies and Ensemble Guadagni, released in 2011 on Wigmore Hall Live, on CD.
Recorded live at Wigmore Hall in London, the recital brings together Iestyn Davies with the Ensemble Guadagni in a program of Baroque chamber music. It includes the Buxtehude cantata that opens the concert, Blow's satirical piece inspired by the libertine Rochester, and Handel's nine German arias, composed in the 1720s to poems by Brockes celebrating joy in God.
The program includes works by Purcell, and this concert was the first collaboration between Iestyn Davies and the Ensemble Guadagni.
For fans of classical music and Baroque vocal repertoire.
