«Hänsel und Gretel» is the opera by Engelbert Humperdinck published in 2007 by El País on audio CD.
Opera sung in German based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale: two siblings, Hänsel and Gretel, get lost in the forest and discover the marzipan house inhabited by a witch. Humperdinck's score adopts the Wagnerian language with leitmotifs, but makes it accessible with folk-like melodies and a children's story tone.
