Synopsis of Il Re Pastore
Il Re Pastore es una ópera en dos actos de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, K. 208. Fue escrita para celebrar la visita del archiduque Maximiliano Francisco de Austria a Salzburgo en abril de 1775. La ópera se desarrolla en la antigua ciudad de Sidón, donde Alejandro Magno busca un heredero legítimo al trono. Amintas, un pastor, resulta ser el descendiente del rey legítimo. Alejandro lo nombra rey, pero Amintas duda en aceptar el trono porque está enamorado de Elisa, una pastora de origen humilde. Alejandro aprueba el matrimonio de Amintas y Elisa, y Amintas se convierte en rey.
