«Introduttioni Teatrali» is the album by Pietro Antonio Locatelli with the Freiburger Barockorchester and Thomas Hengelbrock, on CD from Deutsche Harmonia Mundi.
Locatelli's Introduttioni teatrali are Baroque instrumental pieces conceived as theatrical overtures. The Freiburger Barockorchester, conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock, performs them with a chamber character: slow passages and lively movements alternate in a recording that evokes the theatrical atmosphere of Baroque music.
A single CD; German edition with the subtitle Kammermusik / Chamber Music, released by Deutsche Harmonia Mundi and BMG (catalog number 05472 77207 2).
Aimed at classical and chamber music listeners who want to approach the instrumental repertoire of the Baroque.
