La buona novella is a seminal concept album by Italian singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André, originally released in 1970. The album is inspired by apocryphal gospels, offering a poetic and humanist reinterpretation of the figure of Jesus and those around him. It moves away from a purely religious perspective to focus on the human condition, justice, and compassion, and is widely considered one of the most important works in 20th-century Italian music.
This CD edition allows listeners to rediscover the lyrical depth and musical sophistication of De André, who blends folk, rock, and singer-songwriter traditions with unique sensitivity. With themes exploring freedom and ethics, the album remains an essential piece for any music collector and a testament to the creative genius of one of Italy's most influential artists.
