This CD features two zarzuelas by the Spanish composer Federico Chueca: 'La Gran Vía' and 'El Bateo'. Performed by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Víctor Pablo Pérez, along with prominent soloists such as María Bayo, Manuel Lanza, and María Rodríguez, these works offer a glimpse into the Madrid género chico. The album was released in 2012 by Deutsche Grammophon and captures the essence of late 19th-century Spanish popular music.
