«La Zarzuela + Pop» is a compilation by various artists performing zarzuela pieces in a pop style, released in 2007 on CD.
A compilation bringing zarzuela closer to pop: fifteen artists, including Ana Belén, Jaime Urrutia, Martirio, Pasión Vega and Mónica Molina, perform pieces from the lyrical genre with contemporary arrangements. The cover, featuring a red Converse sneaker and a red high-heeled shoe, sums up the meeting of tradition and modernity.
1-disc CD released in Spain, framed within pop and folk music; catalogue number SA01355.
For those who want to discover zarzuela from today's pop or reconnect with it through familiar voices.
