«Land of the Loon» is the album by Dan Gibson and John Herberman, released in 1999 by Solitudes, on CD.
The album combines field recordings of natural sounds with gentle instrumental arrangements of piano, guitar, flute and strings. The centerpiece is the call of a loon on a lake, integrated into a relaxing new age and ambient soundscape, designed to evoke Canadian forests and waters.
The CD edition is enhanced and stereo, part of the Solitudes series, with a style mixing field recording, ambient and new age. Distributed by Allegro Corporation.
For new age and ambient music listeners seeking a relaxing atmosphere with nature sounds, especially for meditation or rest.
