«Las mujeres y cuerdas: canciones y piezas para guitarra» is the album by Marta Almajano and José Miguel Moreno, released in 1995 by Glossa on CD.
The album brings together songs and pieces for guitar from around 1800, between classicism and romanticism. Marta Almajano and José Miguel Moreno perform Fernando Sor, Mauro Giuliani, Ferdinando Carulli, Vicente Martín y Soler and Johann Kaspar Mertz, with Spanish seguidillas and Italian ariettas that unite voice and guitar in European salons.
The recording was made in 1994 in historic venues in Spain with period instruments. The album was issued as a single stereo CD.
Recommended for listeners interested in classical music, chamber repertoire with guitar and historically informed performances.
