The quartet led by bassist Chris Lightcap explores contemporary jazz that moves between post-bop and the avant-garde. With two tenor saxophones and a rhythm section of double bass and drums, the original compositions create sophisticated atmospheres, dense textures and complex rhythms, showing the dialogue between the winds and the bass.
The lineup includes Tony Malaby and Bill McHenry (tenor saxophone), Gerald Cleaver (drums) and Chris Lightcap (double bass). Label reference Fresh Sound New Talent: FSNT 074.
