«Le Rossignol» is the opera by Igor Stravinsky conducted by Pierre Boulez, with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, on CD (Warner Elatus, 2003).
Stravinsky's lyrical tale, based on «The Nightingale» by Hans Christian Andersen, contrasts the song of the live bird with that of an automaton in the emperor's court. Boulez's version brings together Phyllis Bryn-Julson as the nightingale, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Singers.
The recording belongs to the Elatus series from Warner Classics and is presented on a single CD with a duration of 46 minutes.
For those who enjoy Stravinsky's opera and versions conducted by Pierre Boulez.
