«Mahler: Symphony No. 4» is the album by Kiri Te Kanawa, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Sir Georg Solti, released in 1984 by Decca on CD.
Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in G major uses a smaller orchestra than his earlier symphonies and reserves the soprano voice for the finale, where «Das himmlische Leben», a song about a child's vision of heaven, is heard. The recording includes the movements «Bedächtig. Nicht eilen», «Ruhevoll» and «Sehr behaglich».
Edition on one disc with catalog number 410 188-2. The recording was made at Orchestra Hall in Chicago in April 1983.
For classical music enthusiasts, particularly fans of Mahler's symphonies and the Romantic repertoire.
