«Mercy» is the album by American composer and vocalist Meredith Monk, released in 2002 by ECM Records on CD.
A work within contemporary classical music that fuses electronics, vocal textures and minimalism: the voice is used as a central instrument over layers of piano, percussion, viola and violin. Among its 14 pieces, 'Braid 1 And Leaping Song', 'Urban March (Shadow)' and 'Core Chant' stand out.
Eleventh album by Meredith Monk, within the ECM New Series (ECM 1829). Performers include, among others, John Hollenbeck, Allison Sniffin, Theo Bleckmann, Katie Geissinger and Ching Gonzalez.
For fans of experimental music and contemporary classical music with an interest in the expressive use of the voice.
