«Mermaid Avenue Vol. II» is the collaborative album by Billy Bragg & Wilco, released in 2000 on Elektra/Wea, on CD.
The album recovers unpublished lyrics by Woody Guthrie and turns them into songs performed by Billy Bragg and Wilco, with a sound combining folk, rock and country. The selection includes «Airline to Heaven», «Secret of the Sea» and «All You Fascists», which show Guthrie's protest spirit and the band's instrumental solidity.
Mermaid Avenue Vol. II is the second installment of the project that Billy Bragg and Wilco dedicated to Woody Guthrie's lyrics; the CD contains 15 tracks.
For fans of folk rock, alternative country and protest song, and for those who follow the shared work of Billy Bragg and Wilco.
