«Metallica», also known as The Black Album, is the fifth studio album by Metallica, released in 1991 on CD.
With this work, Metallica largely moved away from the thrash of their early albums and adopted a more forceful, direct heavy metal sound. It includes «Enter Sandman», «Sad But True» and «Nothing Else Matters», three songs that drove the album's great commercial success.
It went on sale on August 12, 1991 as a single CD with 12 tracks and a total running time of 62 minutes.
For heavy metal and hard rock fans, especially those who want to discover the album with which Metallica achieved much wider exposure.
