«Mozart: The Piano Quartets» is the album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed by the Beaux Arts Trio and Bruno Giuranna, released on CD in 1984.
The album brings together Mozart's two piano quartets: the Quartet in G minor KV 478 and the Quartet in E-flat major KV 493. The ensemble adds Bruno Giuranna's viola to the Beaux Arts Trio. Among its movements, the opening Allegro of KV 478 and the Larghetto of KV 493 stand out as examples of the dialogue between piano and strings.
Recorded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in January 1983. Published by Philips Digital Classics in 1984, on a single CD.
For fans of classical chamber music and recordings of Mozart's repertoire.
