«Music for Flute, Vol. 1» is the baroque music album by Jacques-Martin Hotteterre, released in 2000 by Naxos, on CD.
This recording presents the first book of pieces for transverse flute by Jacques-Martin Hotteterre, opus 2 of 1708: four suites and pieces for two flutes, with dances such as 'Allemande La Royale', 'Rondeau Le Duc d'Orléans' and 'Gigue La Follichon'. The historically informed performance uses baroque flute, harpsichord, viola da gamba and theorbo.
Recorded at the church of Saint-Hippolyte de Castres in November 1995, it is a DDD recording of 72 minutes; the booklet includes texts in English, German and French.
It will appeal to fans of baroque music and historically informed performance on period instruments.
