«New York City» is the jazz and blues album by The Peter Malick Group with Norah Jones, released in 2003 by UMC (Universal Music Catalogue) on CD.
The project stems from sessions Peter Malick held with the then-unknown Norah Jones in late 2000 and blends urban blues, jazz and pop. Jones's voice stands out on songs such as «New York City», «Strange Transmissions» and «Heart of Mine».
The CD brings together seven songs (30:04), with Peter Malick on guitar and Norah Jones on vocals and piano; production is by Peter Malick.
It appeals to Norah Jones fans and jazz and blues enthusiasts, as it captures an earlier stage of the singer.
