«Oceans in the Sky» is the contemporary jazz album by Steve Kuhn, Miroslav Vitous and Aldo Romano, released in 2001 by Emarcy on CD.
The trio of Steve Kuhn on piano, Miroslav Vitous on double bass and Aldo Romano on drums blends Kuhn and Romano originals with standards by Kenny Dorham, Dave Brubeck or Duke Ellington. Standouts include «Lotus Blossom», «In Your Own Sweet Way» and the title piece. The album, recorded in Paris, is a conversation between piano, double bass and drums.
Recorded on September 29, 1989 at the Ferber studio in Paris; this remastered edition was released in 2001.
For acoustic jazz listeners interested in trio line-ups and late-1980s European recordings.
