Parsifal is an opera in three acts by German composer Richard Wagner. It premiered in 1882 in Bayreuth, Germany. The opera is based on the medieval epic poem Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach, which in turn is based on the legend of Perceval from the Arthurian cycle. This complete recording of the opera was made live in Bayreuth in 1951, conducted by Hans Knappertsbusch.
