«Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 5» is the Beethoven album featuring Evgeny Kissin and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by James Levine, released by Sony Classical on CD.
The CD brings together two Beethoven piano concertos. No. 2 contrasts the Mozartean heritage with the virtuoso energy of the young composer, while No. 5, known as the «Emperor», offers monumental and brilliant writing. Kissin displays expressive phrasing and outstanding technical control, accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra and the baton of James Levine in a 1997 recording.
1997 recording released by Sony Classical, with a single disc. It corresponds to Ludwig van Beethoven's piano concertos No. 2 and No. 5.
For those seeking a classic version of Beethoven's piano concertos with a highly renowned soloist.
