«Pictures» is the jazz album by Turkish pianist Aydin Esen, released by Jazz City on CD.
Pianist Aydin Esen leads an ensemble with guitar, saxophone, bass, drums, percussion and voice in a program of contemporary jazz with elements of Turkish music. The arrangements, with an elaborate structure, combine dense passages with sections of virtuoso improvisation and shifts in atmosphere, showing the dialogue between the instruments.
Aydin Esen is joined by Mick Goodrick (guitar), George Garzone (saxophone), Peter Herbert (bass), Selahattin C. Kozlu (drums), Randy Kartiganer (voice) and Mike Ringquist (percussion).
It is suitable for fans of contemporary jazz and jazz fusion who value line-ups with guitar, saxophone and percussion.
