«Placebo» is the self-titled debut album by the band Placebo, released in 1996 on CD.
The album moves between alternative rock and pop, with songs of a melancholic air and lyrics about anguish and identity. Its cover, with a child covering his face, reinforces that tone. Among the tracks are «Teenage Angst», «Nancy Boy» and «36 Degrees».
The CD, a single disc, contains ten songs and was marketed by Virgin Records; the back cover includes the track listing and catalogue code 8418502.
Intended for fans of 1990s alternative rock and melancholic pop rock.
