«Prokofiev: Violin Concertos 1 & 2 / Stravinsky: Violin Concerto» is the album by violinist Kyung Wha Chung released in 1990 on Decca on CD.
This recording brings together Prokofiev's two violin concertos (No. 1 in D major, Op. 19, and No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63) alongside Stravinsky's Violin Concerto in D major. Kyung Wha Chung is the soloist, with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by André Previn, in a reading that combines the modern and neoclassical repertoire of the 20th century.
Original recordings from 1973 (Stravinsky) and 1977 (Prokofiev) remastered in ADD; total duration 70:51. Reference 425 003-2.
Will appeal to classical music enthusiasts, particularly those who appreciate 20th-century violin repertoire.
