«Requiem» is the album by John Rutter performed by the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, conducted by Timothy Brown, released in 2003 by Naxos on CD.
Rutter's Requiem does not follow the traditional Mass for the Dead: it combines Catholic texts with passages from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. It alternates pieces such as «Pie Jesu» and «The Lord is my shepherd» with choral and organ works, including «A Clare Benediction». Produced by the composer, it was the first recording of the ensemble version.
Recorded in July 2002 at Douai Abbey (Berkshire, England) with the City of London Sinfonia. Soloists: Elin Manahan Thomas, Susan Dorey, Karen Jones, Christopher Hooker. Catalog: 8.557130.
