«Horn Concertos» is the album by Richard Strauss with Barry Tuckwell, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Ashkenazy, released in 1991 by Decca on CD.
It brings together Richard Strauss's two horn concertos, No. 1 and No. 2, written between his youth and his maturity. Barry Tuckwell performs them with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, and the disc is completed with works for horn and piano that show the lyrical character of the brass repertoire.
DDD digital recording on one CD; catalog number 430 370-2. The US edition was released on the London Records label.
For classical music fans, especially those interested in the horn and late-Romantic orchestral repertoire.
