«Signs» is the album by Badmarsh & Shri, released in 2001 on CD.
Badmarsh & Shri fuse drum and bass, breakbeat and downtempo with dancehall, reggae, funk, hip-hop and Indian sounds, with a danceable and sophisticated result. «Swarm» and «Tribal» concentrate the percussive energy, while «Signs», a version of a Tenor Saw classic with UK Apache, provides the more melodic counterpoint.
The album includes collaborations from the Bombay String Orchestra and Kathryn Williams, nominated for the Mercury Prize.
A record for fans of dance electronics with a mix of breakbeat, ragga, funk and Indian classical music.
