«Six Pianos / Variations / Music for Mallet Instruments» is the compilation by Steve Reich, released in 1993 by Deutsche Grammophon on CD.
Three works of Steve Reich's minimalism: 'Six Pianos' builds a web of six pianos that fall out of phase; 'Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ' mixes voices, percussion and keyboards; 'Variations for Winds, Strings and Keyboards' transfers that play of repetition and phase-shifting to the orchestra.
Remastered edition in the Classikon series. The recordings are by Steve Reich and Musicians and the San Francisco Symphony, conducted by Edo de Waart.
For those approaching minimalism and contemporary classical music.
