«Soldier Boy» is the single by The Motor Pool, released in 1988 on Strike as a 7-inch vinyl.
The track combines hip hop's rhythmic base with electronic textures and a cut-up/DJ approach typical of the late eighties. The cover, with the title in large yellow letters and the illustration of a man with glasses and a red cap smoking, reinforces the urban character of the release.
The single was released in the UK with catalogue number STRK 5 and is a 45 RPM record.
